All of our Invisalign® clear aligner patients start their smile journey with a scan from our iTero® digital scanner. This will show you a real-time 3-D model of your bite, giving both of us a good idea of how long the tooth straightening process will take. We are often asked if this process hurts or is unpleasant, and the answer is no! iTero® scans take minutes and produce models of your teeth in the same session.
Once we’ve determined that you are a good candidate for Invisalign® clear aligner treatment, we will send your scans off to the lab, where they will then produce your first set of clear aligners! Since iTero® scans are so accurate, your treatment will fit and start working perfectly.
What Treatment will be Like
No wire adjustments, hours in the dentist’s chair, broken wires, or brackets! All you have to worry about is following your dentist’s instructions, wearing your clear aligner treatment for a minimum of 22 hours per day, and swapping your current pair of clear aligners for your next pair when treatment is ready to advance.
Don’t worry! Our patients don’t have to keep a detailed calendar of when to pick up the next addition to their clear aligner treatment! Our team and the My Invisalign app will give you plenty of notice on when the next step of your treatment is ready for you to receive.
Remember, with Invisalign® clear aligners; you don’t have to worry about avoiding specific foods, sports, events, etc. However, you probably know this since the flexibility and freedom of this aligner treatment are why you are interested in it in the first place!
